Senior Center Manager

 

Description of Work:

 The Senior Center Manager shall have responsibility for the management of a part-time Senior Center. S/he must work to insure that the activities and services of the Center are provided appropriately and in accordance with established policies (including North Carolina Division of Aging Nutrition and Senior Center Service Standards). S/he will promote an environment that makes all participants feel that they are welcome to be a part of every activity and take advantage of all services.

 

Responsibilities Shall Include:

  • Plans, schedules, and oversees programs and services in response to interest of participants and as required by the Council.
  • Tracks clients participating in meal and transportation program through sign-in sheets, and submits forms monthly
  • Records and accounts for client contributions
  • Maintains and posts a current calendar of activities
  • Makes daily announcements of upcoming activities and issues of interest to the participants
  • Supervises kitchen and custodial staff to make sure Center meets all health and other regulatory standards
  • Fills in for kitchen aide, when necessary
  • Assists with meal service
  • Participates in all required meetings and training, including CPR/First Aid training
  • Maintains written records and submits them  in a timely manner
  • Maintains confidentiality of all records
  • Posts information as required and keep bulletin boards updated
  • Recruits and supervises volunteers
  • Tracks  volunteer hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Organizational Relationship:

The Senior Center Manager reports to the Director of Senior Centers Program

 

Supervises

The Senior Center Manager supervises the Kitchen Aide and Custodian.

 

Employment Qualifications:

The Senior Center Manager must have a high school degree or equivalent. S/he must have experience in planning activities and/or services -- preferably for older adults and demonstrate maturity, good judgment, flexibility, and organizational ability.  S/he must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken. S/he must have the ability to work effectively with older adults, staff and other persons assisting seniors. 

 

This is a non- exempt position.

 

Salary based on experience and qualifications
